Mount Royal Kantorei, one of Mount Royal University Conservatory’s choral ensembles, offers a diverse and innovative choral experience to its members and audiences.

We strive for social impact through powerful and thought-provoking performances and collaborations. Through music, we have raised awareness of mental health, climate change and social justice. We are proud to have been making music in Calgary for 26 years.

Our chorus is a mixed-voice, auditioned choir of 80 members from all walks of life. We foster and value diversity and a safe and inclusive space for artistic expression.

During the pandemic, Kantorei become known for our uplifting virtual recordings and music videos such as the incredibly moving "Please Stay" by Jake Runestad. We considered it a great honour to help foster connection, empathy and community when many around us were in a crisis of isolation.

Since then, our music videos have garnered international followers from around the globe.

Kantorei performs in the stunning Bella Concert Hall at Mount Royal University, where wonderful acoustics showcase the choir’s clear, rich harmonies, and venues throughout Calgary.
