The JCCF's Mission is Freedom and Equality for every Canadian

JCCF seeks to provide greater freedom and equality for Canadians.

Founded as a voice for freedom in Canada's courtrooms, the JCCF's charitable mission is to defend pro bono the constitutional freedoms of Canadians through litigation and education.

The JCCF's vision is for a Canada where:

• each and every Canadian is treated equally by governments and by the courts, regardless of race, ancestry, ethnicity, age, gender, beliefs, or other personal characteristics.
• every Canadian is subject to the same laws, and no individual or group receives special legal privileges
• all Canadians are free to express peacefully their thoughts, opinions and beliefs without fear of persecution or oppression.
• every person has the knowledge and the perseverance to control his or her own destiny as a free and responsible member of our society.
• every Canadian has the understanding and determination to recognize, protect and preserve their human rights and constitutional freedoms.

About Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms

Canadians enjoy a wide variety of rights and freedoms, many of which are codified in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Among such rights, JCCF seeks to protect individual rights to freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association. We pursue these general objectives through activities such as litigation, outreach education, speaking engagements, essay contents, research and publications. 

When governments or their agencies infringe on these rights, JCCF offers legal services pro bono, thereby removing the significant hurdle many citizens encounter in defending their constitutional rights. And we do it very efficiently: Each donated dollar we receive, buys an average of $3 of legal services at regular market rates. Since 2010, donors have enabled our small but mighty legal team to deliver over $8 million of legal services value in defense of rights for Canadians.
