A NEW LEGACY
Since the death of Calgary Police Service Const. John Petropoulos at an unsafe work site on Sept. 29, 2000, 16,286 workplace-related fatalities were recorded in Canada between 2001 and 2017. On average, more than 950 Canadians die as a result of occupational incidents each year. These figures – which represent thousands of real people, but do not reflect all the friends and relatives impacted by their loss – are unacceptable.
It's time to create a new legacy for hard-working Canadians.
The John Petropoulos Memorial Fund (JPMF) raises awareness about occupational safety and educates people about workplace hazards.
We are currently in the process of creating a new public service announcement (PSA) about occupational health and safety that will urge people to create safer workplaces for everyone. This video will be shown across Canada - it will enrage. It will make you think. It will motivate. Those who heed the call will help us create a safer environment for all workers.
Help us reach our $10,000 fundraising goal so we can create this PSA and start to create a new legacy.
