The goal of the JHC is to see the universal implementation of human rights through teaching and education of all people, focusing specifically on children and youth. Our initiatives are based on a popular education methodology and grounded in creating engaging, experiential and transformative learning, while encouraging diverse participants to build their capacity for respect and reciprocity through knowing their rights and understanding their obligations and responsibilities. As a human rights and peace education organization, we work with a diversity of communities, including, but not limited to, Indigenous, newcomer and refugee, 2STQLGBIA+, those living with disabilities, low income, and young people. Our facilitative leadership style brings a diverse range of stakeholders and partners together to find common ground on shared issues. We pride ourselves on our strong capacity to build collaborative solutions among these diverse voices and steward relations. We also have a long standing capacity to work with marginalized communities, and in particular, moving people from ideas to action-led initiatives.
