Our Mission

To enhance the experience of live theatre in Victoria by providing opportunities for our community and audiences to share in the work of exciting touring & emerging local indie and contemporary theatre artists.

Intrepid Theatre (est1986) produces the Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival,  OUTstages and the new Incoming Festival, as well as a year-round Presenting Series. We responsible for the creation & operation of two much needed, very popular, downtown venues, the Metro Studio Theatre (175 seats) and the Intrepid Theatre Club (40 seat or standing) - which play host to our festivals, events and presentations, and are available to our community.

About INTREPID THEATRE COMPANY SOCIETY

Intrepid Theatre is one of Canada's most exciting and innovative festival producers & theatre presenters. A desire to bring new kinds of performance from across the country and around the world to Vancouver Island has lead to the development of one of Canada's first Fringe Festivals, Uno Fest: Canada's first solo performance festival, the experimental performance event Winterlab, OUTstages: Victoria's first queer-focused theatre festival, and the new Incoming Festival, focused on new work presentations.  These performing art festivals are consistently delivering the best of local, national and international innovative indie and contemporary theatre.

Our audience has grown to more than 30,000 patrons each year. We value that theatre is for everyone; therefore, prioritize affordable ticket pricing and create accessible ticketing programs such as Pay What You Can Opening Nights and numerous free family friendly community events. As we continue to have great ideas for ways we can serve Victoria, BC and its' blossoming independent performing arts scene and community, it is more important than ever that we find ways to raise the money we need to do the vibrant work we do.
