Intersections Media Opportunities for Youth Society provides life skills, training, employment readiness skills, work experience/on-the-job training, job coaching and ongoing supports to unemployed youth at risk between the ages of 19 and 29 years.

Intersections Digital Media Workshop is a unique digital media curriculum delivered on a virtual platform. Since 2009 Intersections has delivered the Intersections Digital Media Workshop to more than 750 youth.

The focus of the Program is employment in entry level positions within the film industry. The Program is designed to facilitate marginalized and under­ represented youth (all genders, abilities, and underrepresented communities, including members of Indigenous, Black, and other racialized groups, persons with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ2+, immigrants, visible minorities and young adults enrolled in the SAJE (Strengthening Abilities Journeys of Empowerment) Program.

The Purpose of Intersections is to build participants' self-confidence and provide them with the tools, certifications and skills to achieve long-term attachment to the workforce. After completing the Intersections Digital Media Workshop Program participants receive an Access Bladerunner Certificates of Completion. Participants also receive an Intersections Digital Media Workshop Certificate of Completion which is recognized by the Film Industry.

  • Anti-bullying;
  • Resume Building;
  • Preparation of Applications;
  • Microsoft Office;
  • Slack; and 
  • Zoom.
