No Flash in the PANS

PANDAS struck our eldest boy June 9, 2013. The long drawn out years of struggling to find a believing PANDAS doctor brave enough to come alongside to acknowledge diagnosis and treatment was our biggest challenge. After exhausting all local options, our last hope was taking a giant leap of faith travelling to Washington, DC in 2016 where our son was finally diagnosed and treated. Thankfully, shortly after our return from the US, we found a local pediatrician who accepted our son’s PANDAS diagnosis, and also diagnosed our youngest son with PANDAS, as we’d suspected.

Out of our painful 4 year long journey, we began faithfully advocating. From these efforts a seed was planted and grew to become the foundation of Canada's only PANS PANDAS charity, Inflamed Brain Alliance. We’re extremely honoured to serve as co-founders and co-chairs and see this national organization take root.
