What is PANS PANDAS?
In PANDAS, an autoimmune attack on the brain occurs following an infection (either skin or throat) with a specific strain of group A Strep. PANS is the broader term, which includes not only cases following Strep infections but also cases following other infections, toxins, or even stress. PANS and PANDAS often appear very suddenly and severely affect the physical and mental health of children and young adults.

The Inflamed Brain Alliance is a young Canadian charity relying on the generous support of volunteers, donors and partners to transform the outlook of individuals facing PANS and PANDAS. As Canada’s first and only PANS PANDAS charity, we’re working to provide kids suffering with this disease and their families with the knowledge and support they need to improve quality of life. We're also raising public awareness, providing education and working to accelerate Canadian research activities.
