Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education

about

IPS delivers culturally relevant education that advances and strengthens the lives of Indigenous peoples. We create action through education.

IPS is a charitable and not-for-profit social enterprise that helps foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives, cultural differences and the need for self-determination.

IPS demonstrates excellence through training and leadership. We train leaders, governments, service providers, entrepreneurs, educators, social workers, parents, caregivers and youth who are using what they learn to grow and develop both professionally and personally.

Our trainings help organizations and individuals to share and build positive, safe and culturally inclusive spaces and processes. We enjoy seeing our training participants excel by building successful relationships and initiatives in their communities.

Our work builds capacity, enables and contributes to necessary transformations that enhance the wellbeing and self-determination of Indigenous children, youth and families. Our team is committed to supporting Indigenous communities and organizations as they work to decolonize the way we care for our next generations.

Our Vision

The Indigenous Perspectives Society’s vision is to strengthen the lives and contribute to the self-determination of Indigenous peoples through culturally relevant training.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide culturally relevant training, research, and policy that advances and strengthens the lives of Indigenous peoples.

  1. Honour the right to self-determination of all Indigenous people.

  3. Honour the wisdom and contribution of each person and organization with whom we interact.
