About

At Indigenous Friends Association (IFA), we're more than a tech nonprofit; we're a movement. We bridge the gap between Indigenous heritage and digital innovation, focusing on education, tech development, and research. Our mission is to empower Indigenous communities through digital literacy, guided by our core values of love, integrity, and community.

In the aftermath of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, our initiative directly responds to the Calls to Action No. 7 (i.e., Youth Program) and 66 (i.e., Educational gaps) because, through a community-based initiative, the IFA is supporting the elimination of the education and employment gaps of Indigenous youth. Furthermore, our work at the IFA is further guided and reinforced by the pressing need to address the dark legacy of colonial policies upon Indigenous Peoples. Thus, we aim to provide the necessary tools for Indigenous Peoples and allies alike to build partnerships with one another and promote digital projects that place Indigenous understandings at their core.

Our Mission

Cultivating opportunities to advance digital pathways rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and being, driving positive change for generations.

Our Vision

Indigenous Peoples leveraging technology to amplify their world-views, tech equity, and digital sovereignty.
