Indigenous Christian Fellowship

about

Our Mission

Indigenous Christian Christian Fellowship (ICF) is an urban Indigenous ministry building a worshipping / working community through serving spiritual and social needs of Indigenous people in Regina. Established in 1978, ICF is supported by the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), the Saskatchewan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and other churches and individuals.

ICF celebrates and shares the Creator’s gift of healing and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. ICF practices Christian Aboriginal ministry which encourages claiming, developing, sharing and celebrating individual and cultural gifts.

An important principle for ICF is partnership; it seeks to walk with people who experience its ministry. This practice of partnership focuses on spiritual growth, recovery from addictions and abuse, self-support activities, volunteer support, and community development.

ICF staff members are assisted by volunteers, student placement workers, and fine option - community service workers.

As commissioned by ICF, the Cree artist Ovide Bighetty has created four unique series of paintings: Kisemanito Pakitinasuwin – The Creator’s Sacrifice (2002), Steps Along The Red Road Following Christ the Creator (2005), Kisê-manitow Omiyikowisiwin – The Creator’s Gift (2007) and Prayers for the Creator’s Children. Reproductions of the artwork are available from the ministry. The ministry’s logo was created by Gary Pelletier and adopted by the Council in 1995.
