About Us

ILS is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, and we are a team of people dedicated to strengthening communities in Simcoe County. As a CARF accredited, non-profit organization, we provide services to adults with permanent physical disabilities and seniors aging in place to support and maintain their independence. We provide Ontario Health funded Personal Support, Assisted Living Services, and Homemaking Services through an individualized, non-medical model of care that is holistic and self-directed. This means our approach centers on the choice, control, and freedom of an individual, so their care is based on self-determination; clients make decisions about their own life and what works best for them.

Donations to ILS support client independence through our Assistive Technology & Aging at Home initiative which helps people acquire home and vehicle modifications, assistive technology, and devices that they otherwise could not afford.  We have made it our mission to partner for possibilities, so our vision of full life living is realized with people accessing the resources and support they need to enjoy life fully. We value excellence to ensure a high standard of care while collaborating with clients and community partners to support peoples’ independence; respect is the foundation of our care. For over 40 years, our work has gone beyond healthcare to build a sense of belonging and a culture of care in Simcoe County.
