Rittenhouse envisions and will work towards a non-carceral, accountable and just society that promotes government responsibility, community accountability, care for all members of society and the resolution of conflicts and social harms without resorting to exclusion and punishment.

We provide trainings, consultations, resources and advocacy that help build capacity in Transformative Justice practices with communities most impacted by violence, criminalization and incarceration. We believe everyone has something they can contribute to community held justice. 

We honour the legacies of Transformative, Restorative & Healing Justice work developed by Indigenous, Black & People of Colour communities, by women, poor people, 2SLGBTQ folks, disabled communities and abolitionist movements, among others.

Rittenhouse has been engaged in abolitionist work in Canada and Internationally since the early 1990’s.
