MISSION 

Nova Home Care is a community-based, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide compassionate, high quality, personalized, in-home care to people who are ill or nearing the end of life and families who support them. Nova celebrated 125 years of community support in 2023! 

SERVICES 

• Palliative Care program including respite for caregivers. 

• Home Support program including respite for caregivers. 

• Free accredited palliative care training for all CLSC nurses across the Quebec province who wish to broaden their skills. 

Our services are offered free of charge by registered nurses, massage therapists, specialized Home Health Aides, and a social worker 

IMPACT 

• In the last year, we provided more than 4,500 hours of nursing care to over 540 people living with illnesses at home.  

• We supplied 1,300 hours of individual psychosocial support to 550 caregivers over the past year, helping families cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of caring for a loved one who is ill or nearing the end of their life.  

• 51% of palliative care patients passed away at home, far exceeding the provincial average of 13%, ensuring a more peaceful end-of-life experience for families.  

• Over 450 nurses have been trained in palliative home care by Nova Home Care throughout Quebec since 2019.
