Our Vision
Stronger communities together
For over the past 40 years, the Toronto Centre of Learning & Development (CL&D), formerly known as East End Literacy, has been serving Regent Park, Moss Park, and St. James Town with education and training that helps community members reach their potential and build connections.
During the pandemic, we have expanded our reach to the Greater Toronto Area through hybrid programming with in-person and virtual options. We have also increased our digital training and technology integration to provide cutting-edge learning opportunities and digital skills for participants, which are essential for our increasingly digital world.
Today we support participants through three main programming areas:
- Training programs for adults like our Immigrant Women Integration Program and Academic Upskilling.
- Social enterprises that support residents in growing their skills to generate income like our Regent Park Sewing Studio.
- Seasonal and community programming like our Summer Youth Camp, Cultural Bazaar, and Regent Park Fashion Show which connect neighbours, support local artisans and businesses, and celebrate community.
Join us in supporting lifelong learning, workforce development, social entrepreneurship, independence, and community building.
