Our mission is to maintain and nurture, within a viable economic framework, a professional, regional orchestra of artistic integrity and excellence, which will educate, entertain, and enrich the participation of the widest possible audience.

About THUNDER BAY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (TBSO)

TBSO is the largest arts organization in Thunder Bay and the only professional symphony orchestra in Northwestern Ontario. For over 60 seasons, the TBSO continues to entertain and enrich the lives of Northwestern Ontario residents with thrilling concerts, outreach performances, regional touring, educational programs and concerts, and recordings of both classical and popular music.

In venues throughout the city of Thunder Bay we present 6 distinct concert series - Masterworks, Pops, Voices, Northern Lights, Chamber and Family - to meet a wide range of musical preferences. Annual tours provide education and community concerts throughout the region. Extensive education programs reach students of all ages, and free outreach performances make sure everyone can enjoy what the TBSO has to offer. In total, we typically perform over 100 concerts each season!
