In partnership with Point Pelee National Park, the Friends of Point Pelee support and raise funds through memberships, donations, retail sales. We also provide volunteer support to assist in the protection and to promote the ecological integrity of this Lake Erie peninsula for present and future generations to come. We achieve our purpose by focusing on three specific areas; educational support through messaging, services and literature, as well as scientific research, and ecological restoration / management.
About FRIENDS OF POINT PELEE
The Friends of Point Pelee are a co-operating association with Point Pelee National Park in Leamington Ontario Canada.
We were formed to provide services, resources and support for research, education and ecological integrity preservation in and around the park. We operate a number of visitor services inside the park, such as the Nature Nook (the store in the Visitor Centre), the canoe & bicycle rentals and the Cattail Cafe (at the Marsh Boardwalk). We also operate the transit system that shuttles visitors from the Visitor Centre to the Tip.
The proceeds from sales and services support our operations as well as the Parks Canada Mandate and Point Pelee National Park initiatives.
