The Open Door Montréal is a low-barrier, Indigenous-prioritizing shelter and community organization located in downtown Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. We offer essential programs and services to people experiencing homelessness—rooted in dignity, care, and accessibility.

Every day, we serve over 100 people with compassion and respect—meeting their basic needs while also walking alongside them on their journey toward healing, housing, and connection.

Our 24/7 emergency shelter and day centre provide hot meals, showers, clean clothes, psychosocial support, and a safe place to rest. We also operate a Housing First program for Inuit participants, and an outreach and mediation team working to promote social inclusion and peaceful cohabitation in the Milton-Parc neighbourhood.

Over half of those we serve are Inuit. Many are far from home, navigating systemic barriers, racism, and deep-rooted trauma. For many, The Open Door is more than a shelter—it’s a community where they are known by name and treated like family.
