Our Mission: To prevent hunger in children and lower health risks by providing free infant and children's essentials to families in need.
About Essential Aid and Family Services of Ontario: Founded in 2011, Essential Aid aims to provide poverty relief in the greater Hamilton area via programs offered exclusively to families with children under the age of 4 years.
Programs and assistance include:
Emergency Infant/Toddler Food Bank: Free emergency assistance with infant formula, baby food, disposable diapers, hygiene products, supplements, toddler suitable food items, and breastfeeding supplies.
Welcome Baby: Free Welcome Baby package for new parents offered in third trimester of pregnancy. Package includes diapers, newborn clothing, infant essentials, hygiene products, diaper cream, breastfeeding supplies, supplements & postpartum hygiene supplies needed to prepare for hospital stay and after birth.
Crisis Relief: By referral (referrals accepted from OW, ODSP, CAS, CCAS, Public Heath, public social agencies, hospitals and medical professionals). Emergency assistance is provided to families experiencing crisis based on individual family situations and unique needs.
