The Society of Sharing: Inner-City Volunteers is an incorporated, charitable, non-profit organization that provides services to isolated, lonely and frail seniors and adults with physical disabilities. Our programs are designed to reduce social isolation, promote social connection, and improve the well-being of housebound clients.
We have touched the lives of isolated seniors and adults with disabilities who still live independently in the community. We provide support to enhance the quality of life for these individuals and extend the length of time they are able to live independently in their own homes.
We recruit, screen, and match volunteers with clients in order to provide our services. We also provide information and referrals to other agencies in order to help our clients meet their needs.
Our Mission
To improve the lives of isolated seniors in our community by connecting them with skilled volunteers who provide companionship and social support.
Our Vision
To be recognized as a leader in providing skilled volunteer assistance to isolated seniors.
Our Values
The Society of Sharing believes in the fair treatment of all persons, believes that seniors and persons with disabilities have the right to live in dignity and with respect and is committed to the effective identification and compassionate delivery of meaningful services to those in need.
