I am hiking to raise money for a cause that is near and dear to me for so many reasons. Hike this year, celebrates for me the anniversary of working as part of a team who's entire purpose is to foster hope and humility in the community where we live and work... But isnt this a place of death and despair?? you ask... and my answer to you is absolutely not!! It is a place where patients and families come and discover an opportunity to complete their living in a meaningful way. A place where they can find peace and create some lasting and very meaningful memories. A place to create friendships and common ground. It is a place where people can learn how to NOT fear dying, and to carry that learning on to future generations. It is a place of hope....
