Many of you know that my first Hospice experience was when my Dad died in the year 2000 at the Susie Newton Suites of Hospice Georgian Triangle.
I also called upon Hospice when my son was playing hockey in Elmvale and a young, vibrant man who was refereeing our game, died tragically on the ice. Brian English's family was in all of our thoughts that day and I'm sure all of us who witnessed Brian's passing will always remember.
Our team needed help so I turned to Hospice.
An amazing women helped our kids deal with what they witnessed. It was only a couple of hours but each of them were able to say how the felt with no judgement. Each reaction was honoured and the life of Brian English was honoured as well.Hospice is so much more that helping the dying with pain & symptom management and care. It helps the living to go on in the face of loss and I'm so proud to be a part of it in my community of North Simcoe.
Be well,
Deb
