Since 2006, Father Donato Lwiyando, an Xaverian missionary priest, and a dedicated team of volunteers have devoted their energy to lovingly support and provide hope to young people directly affected by war in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), Africa.
Illegal Profit from the mineral trade is the main motive for armed groups to create and sustain war and violence in the Eastern DR Congo.
Because of turmoil in the villages, families are being separated and destroyed. People continue to die and many thousands of women are being raped. Many young people are fleeing, some living on the streets in Bukavu.
A donation of any amount will help us carry out different ongoing projects in the shelters for educational and vocational programs, building and repair projects,the purchase of school supplies, attention to medical issues, provision for the street children. and other urgent needs.
A monthly sponsorship of $25 will cover basic needs (food, shelter, medical attention) for one of the residents at the shelters.
