About HONG KONG VETERANS COMMEMORATIVE ASSOCIATION
Commemorating the sacrifice made by our veterans in the Battle of Hong Kong, and continuing their struggle to ensure that their sacrifice is never forgotten. The HKVCA has five branches across Canada and has a membership of about 800. Our source of funds includes membership fees as well as donations. Activities include the preparation and distribution of newsletters as a method of informative communication. We also lay wreaths at public ceremonies as expressions of respect for our veterans, distribute books to educate others of our veterans' stories, prepare & distribute booklets for schools as teaching aids to tell our story, maintain a website as an informative resource on the Battle of Hong Kong, erect plaques and grave markers to honour our vets. A completed major is the erection of a Memorial Wall in Ottawa with the names of all those who fought in 'C' Force in that Hong Kong Battle.
