Overview
In its 16th year, Empty Bowls brings the community back together once again at Appleby College to visit the various soup vendors by handing the chef their new bowl to fill. This tangibly represents the soup-bowl experience that many homeless families face prior to entering Home Suite Hope. This is Home Suite Hope’s signature fundraising event with all proceeds going to our wraparound supports.
The signature fundraising event brings the entire community around the table. With ticket sales that provide you with delicious soups, bread, and desserts donated by local restaurants and businesses, each purchase shares the delectable tastes that Halton has to offer while supporting Home Suite Hope in making a great change in our community.

Details
At our last Appleby College hosted Empty Bowls event in 2019, we raised a total of $108,300 in support of HSH families. Over 500 HSH families and friends enjoyed delicious soups ladled into a new pottery bowl from Oakville, Burlington, and Milton’s favourite food establishments. This brought together over 20 local businesses together in support of over 30 single parent led families faced with homelessness, and actively working to make a change in their own lives through our education to employment program, Homeward Bound.
With your help, we can continue to reach more people in the community with our message of hope. The funds raised will go directly to support programs like Homeward Bound Halton, launched in 2014 as the first Canadian replication of an award-winning educational program for homeless & precariously housed single mothers, fights poverty, prevents domestic violence, and builds economic security for single mothers.
