On October 19th, I’m giving up the warmth and comfort of my bed. I have chosen to sleep on a floor, in an undisclosed location, with 11 other leaders from NL. A 1 star ⭐ accommodation for a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐cause: Home Again Furniture Bank.
We are sleeping like this for one night, and I'm sure it will be uncomfortable. It's staged and it's temporary. Maybe a cardboard box on the floor and a coat as a blanket. But then I get to run back to my warm bed on October 20th. Something we all take for granted.
The real discomfort was learning that last year 454 beds were donated to people in our very communities. People who were sleeping on the floor like this every night, many of them kids. Everyone deserves a bed to sleep and dream in.
So, I jumped on the opportunity to support Heads Without Beds this year. I am campaigning to raise a personal goal of $15,000 and as a team our goal is $150,000.
