Climb Out of the Darkness is the world’s largest event raising funds and awareness for the mental health of new families. It is a program within Postpartum Support International. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect 1 in 5 families and is the most common complication of childbirth. Canada's Life With A Baby Foundation is non-profit partnering with the Climb for the 2023 season to allow for national donation.
Climb Out of the Darkness, Team WRSS is planning to host a walk down the promenade/pier with socializing to follow in order to raise awareness and funds that have the potential to be redirected directly back into our community in the form of perinatal wellness support groups. Additionally, this event will provide ongoing social interaction and peer support to crate confident, healthy families. We will be bringing together not just community members, but providers and people impacted by perinatal mental health concerns to inform and connect those in need with local services available.
