HLF helps HDSB students every day to stay focused on learning and engaged in class.
April is HLF Month and schools across the HDSB are being asked to help raise funds for emergency requests for food, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene items.
Last year, 30 schools raised over $30,000 which supported over 150 students.
Schools can choose how they would like to make an impact during the first HLF Month Presented by CN.
Here are a few suggestions:
- For HLF Month hold an “HLF Walk” and determine the day and way that everyone can participate. Ask people to create teams and pledge walkers.
- Hold a school dance or other event and collect donations.
- Wear HLF colours to show your support (blue, orange, green) throughout the month of April in your school community.
CN will match donations to a total of $25,000. Donations will have double the impact and help twice as many students!
