Thank you for your continued support

Each year for the past 19 years the Wellington Catholic District School Board, in partnership with the Diocese of Hamilton, has organized campaigns to support organizations within the Guelph and Wellington community.

The annual Bishop's Dinner has been a tremendous success since its inauguration, thanks to the generous support and enthusiastic participation from the Catholic and broader community.

It has also been a forum to showcase the talents and hear directly from students of the Wellington Catholic District School Board about their experiences in our Catholic schools.

Details

This past year, a successful ThanksLiving campaign was launched and helped give back $20,000 to organizations in need. We thank you for your previous support and invite you to continue on your tradition of the supporting community in our reimagined Virtual Bishop’s Dinner event.

As we emerge from this pandemic, we recognize the need to support organizations who provide vital services to our community members is just as great, or greater, than ever before. Since we anticipate being unable to gather in large groups, in place of our traditional Bishop’s Dinner, we will be offering three opportunities for members of our community to contribute to organizations in need.

To show your support, you can:

1. Directly sponsor or donate to the campaign here

2. Purchase an event ticket which includes access to our virtual Bishop’s Dinner event on October 21 and receive a gourmet meal from the Italian Canadian Club or Fergies in Fergus.

Your Fergies meal includes a prime rib dinner with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Your Italian Canadian Club meal is Chicken Saltimbocca (breast of chicken stuffed with prosciutto, sage and cheese) served with pan roasted potatoes and vegetables. You can select one of these options during ticket purchase.

3. Participate in our online auction - a link to the full online auction will be shared prior to the launch.

Net proceeds from the event will be directed to the following charities:

  • Children’s Foundation of Guelph Wellington
  • Canadian Mental Health Association – Wellington Waterloo
  • Centre Wellington Food Bank
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society of Guelph and Wellington County

These organizations help provide assistance to members of our Catholic families and the community at large through food vouchers, breakfast programs, counselling supports, and access to children’s programs. Each of these organizations have experienced a great increase in demand during this pandemic and are in need of your support for the future.
