ABOUT US
The Greater Victoria Animals’ Crusaders (GVAC) was founded in 1973 and since then has been a leader in animal rescue in the Greater Victoria area. We continue to be run entirely by dedicated and loyal volunteers. Our goal is, and always will be, to put as close to 100% all funds collected to the rescue and care of companion animals. Community is vital to a rescue and we are committed to working with our community to lessen the suffering of companion animals. Give a voice to those that have none and join our team as a dedicated foster, volunteer, adopter, or donor. We are all in this together.
WHAT WE DO
-Provide vet care, food and safe foster homes for strays, rescues and/or surrenders.
-Spay/neuter all animals that come into our care.
-Find safe & loving forever homes for abandoned animals.
-Assist low-income families with spays and neuters.
-Take on special needs pets from the CRD pound & Victoria Animal Control.
-Funding for care of several feral cat colonies.
-Fix and re-home feral cats into Karen's Barn Rats for Barn Cats program.
-Work to tame feral kittens/cats in foster care when possible.
-Fund-raise to pay for vet expenses, food & supplies.
