In 2021, Global Gathering Place (GGP) welcomed 374 newly arrived refugees. We provide holistic supports to refugees so they can rebuild their lives, heal, and connect with our community. Our case coordination team provides intensive support to help clients overcome barriers like poverty, illness, and disability. We teach clients life skills, such as grocery shopping and taking the bus, and how to navigate the complex health system with the help of our interpreters and Cultural Health Navigators.

Providing round-the-clock frontline assistance to refugee clients is a labour of love for all of us at GGP because we see everyday the difference that heartfelt, personalized service can make in the lives of newcomers.

Why We're Asking For Support

While resettling refugees is always a difficult, expensive, and lengthy process, the pandemic has exacerbated all of the challenges. We're inviting our friends, partners, and supporters to help us offset the costs we're covering, including medications, transportation, groceries, and necessary miscellaneous costs (such as basic household items or multiple sets of passport photos for families' immigration processes) that continue to add up. Every dollar you contribute to the Refugee Resettlement Fund will make an immediate difference in the lives of our newest residents, many of whom are eager to give back to the community as soon as they can.
