The Glebe Centre

The Glebe Centre is a registered Canadian charity and not-for-profit that incorporates a 254-bed long-term care home and a senior's programs and services centre called Abbotsford House. Abbotsford has 640 members.

2024 NEEDS

Donations are gratefully appreciated so that we can fund long-term care equipment like resident weight scales (8 @ $2,000 each) and lifts (7 @ $7,000 and 3 @ $10,000); family chairs and comfort carts for palliative residents (6 @ $5,500); and new staff scheduling software ($75,000) to replace the Excel spreadsheets used in past!.

At Abbotsford House gifts are needed to support renovations like a new boiler ($20,000) and a retrofit of our 2nd floor bathroom ($100,000)

These needs are not funded by the Government so must be supported by generous donors like you!

Long-term Care

The Glebe Centre is a highly respected 254 bed long-term care home where charitable donations support resident programming like art and music therapy. Donations also fund the purchase of electric beds and our newly minted Butterfly Model of Care program.

Abbotsford House

Abbotsford has a long and rich history of supporting seniors in the Capital Ward catchment area. The organization serves 640 members with diverse programs and an additional 500 clients with services like foot care, medical appointment transportation and a day-away program for people with early to mid levels of dementia.

New Call Bell SystemIn order to promptly respond to resident needs, we need a new $200K call bell system. To February 5, 2021 we have raised $69,000.

Greatest NeedsWe need over 140 new electric beds for our residents. Each costs $2,000 and our nurses and PSWs would benefit from these as well as it would mean less physical stress raising and lowering the beds.

Chinese FloorWe need to raise $150,000 - $200,000 for a new solarium over the 6th floor balcony. To date, $80,000 has been raised.
