Every year I'm proud to don the heels and Walk a Mile to end gender based violence. As a husband, father, brother, and son, I believe it is one of my responsibilities to visibly show my support to guide and change the behaviour of men in our society to support this goal. Gender based violence and violence against women is a MEN'S issue, and we need to be the key driver of the solution.
This October 19th, I am Walking a Mile in HER Shoes at The Pen Centre to raise awareness and much-needed funds for Gillian's Place. Even though I may get a few blisters on the way, it is nothing compared to the dangerous and life-threatening scenarios that too many women, gender-diverse folks, and children in Niagara face.
