Find out what life is like on board Europa, a 56m tall - sailing ship, in the vast and unpredictable Southern Ocean toward Antarctica and beyond! John Nightingale spent 52 days at sea, departing from Ushuaia, Argentina sailing through the Beagle Channel, negotiating the infamous Drake Passage en route to the Antarctic Peninsula. Finally crossing the southern Atlantic Ocean, via South Georgia and Tristan Da Cunah to Cape Town, South Africa.

Travel Adventures is an ongoing series presented by the Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society where local world travelers share their adventures with photographs that will help you discover the plants, animals, and people of places you’ve always dreamed of exploring! Everyone is welcome to attend! Admission is by donation. A select few seats will be available for reservation with a donation; otherwise the balance will be rush seating with a suggested donation of $10 per person. All funds raised will support the Helen Schuler Nature Centre and nature interpretation in Lethbridge.
