CYCLES© Practice with Maxine Heppner
Deepen expression and widen your range of dance movement through awareness, alignment, and coordination of simultaneous action, attending to the breath, impulse, and energy, mobility, strength, power with ease, using the CYCLES© approach to dance practice, developed by Maxine Heppner.
Dancing is simple and delightfully complex. Through her CYCLES© Practice method, Maxine Heppner leads dancers to experience their physical body and their expressive self as intersecting parts that cycle in and out of each other. We learn movements, patterns, and rhythms. We coordinate our bones and muscles to behave with specific amounts of power and speed, to flow in specific directions. At the same time, we channel our energy, senses, thoughts through the dance we are doing. All this, and more, emanates an expressiveness shared with others. CYCLES is a mindful dance training designed for all bodies & all forms of movement. Maxine Heppner guides each person to discover, recover & enhance mobility, creative expression & pleasure of ordinary movement, and of stylized, technical and-or improvisational dance. The work is ultimately to dance your Self as Yourself.
