Our History
Our charity was created to build a supportive community. Canada’s population is about 37.7M with an estimated 9.425M who may have Metabolic dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). Of those, an estimated 20% - 25% will progress to cirrhosis and suffer with Metabolic dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH).
Our Mission
We raise awareness about the risks, causes and complications of fatty liver disease and help those already diagnosed with MASLD and MASH by advocating for access to approved treatments and care.
Our Purpose
To educate the public about the risks, causes, effects and complications of, and treatments for, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (now known as Metabolic dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease) through virtual and in-person presentations, conferences, meetings, and webinars, and by collecting and disseminating information on that topic.
To promote health by conducting or funding research into the causes, controls and cure of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and by making the results available to the public.
