I have stepped off the edge of the tallest office building 7th times now. Why do I keep doing it? I step into a harness and rappel 23 stories to support the wonderful work done by Easter Seals Nova Scotia.
My first rappel was to check off a bucket list item. That first rappel was a struggle. The voice inside my head said, "Who are you fooling; you can't do this!
I did do it. I also rappelled three years later - five months after spinal surgery.
That voice in my head is loud and frequently tells me I can't do it. I quiet that voice by remembering that I can step into a harness and lower myself to the ground.
