About Campaign

In 2013 I suffered a mini stroke and in 2014 I was diagnosed with dystonia.

Swimming has always been a passion of mine growing up, and it was a natural choice to return to the sport to regain my confidence and connect with a community of like minded athletes. It’s also given me a purpose to continue swimming as a para swimmer and help inspire a new generation of adaptive swimmers both youth and adult.

As the first Masters swimmer in Canada to be classified as a para swimmer, I am so proud that it has opened a new category of registration called Masters Open, where anyone regardless of their experience, who as an impairment (such as dystonia) is able to receive their Level 1 classification; to train and swim in any environment they are comfortable in.

Your donation will help the with much needed cutting edge research for medications, diagnostics, treatments and programs such as the Masters Open; to be accessible and available for dystonia patients.

Thank you for your time!
