The purposes of this Association are:
1. To ensure that persons with developmental disabilities have the same opportunities as other citizens to live in a manner consistent with their needs and capabilities.
2. To ensure that the services provided will offer developmental options/opportunities to the individual with the ultimate option being community integration.
3. To monitor the quality of services to persons with developmental disabilities and to ensure that human rights and dignity are respected.
4. To offer support to families of persons with developmental disabilities.
5. To promote improved public understanding and positive attitudes toward persons with developmental disabilities.
