Our Mission

Founded by Father Emmett Johns ("Pops") in 1988, Dans la rue provides assistance to homeless youth and youth at risk. With dedication, empathy and respect, and with the support of the community, we care for their immediate needs, and help them acquire the skills and resources needed to lead more autonomous and rewarding lives.

About DANS LA RUE

Dans la rue is a driving force in preventing youth homelessness. Every year, we make a difference in the lives of over 1,000 12 to 25 year-olds, offering them a wide range of programs and services including the Van, the Bunker, the Day Centre, Family Services and Housing. Every day, we are there for them, not only when they are at their lowest but also to celebrate their victories. Having developed a multi-faced approach to respond to the varied needs of homeless and at-risk youth, the organization is a constant in their lives. We reach out to vulnerable youth, without judging them, and gradually guide them to achieve their goals.
