We work as a leader in capacity building through training programs on crisis intervention, suicide prevention and wellness, successfully engaging and training volunteers and staff as well as other community service providers and educational institutions.

To support awareness and literacy around mental health and suicide prevention we share aggregated data with local health authorities, community partners and crisis line networks.

The hundreds of volunteers that are trained each year take the skills they have learned through our volunteer training programs out into the community. In creating a rich and dynamic learning environment for volunteers to learn and practice new skills, the Crisis Centre shares in a legacy of supporting the development of future mental health professionals. In this way, the Crisis Centre helps bridge the gap between theory and practice and contributes towards building a continuum of support for vulnerable members of our community long after volunteers leave the Centre.
