The Foundation is run by Cosmopolitan clubs in Western Canada. None of the Foundation members receive compensation for the role that they play in administering the program. The Foundation operates with an administrative overhead of approximately 4%. The majority of this cost is tied directly to the required annual audit of the Foundation.
The Foundatioin distributes funds based on a juried application process. One of the primary benefactors of the program to date has been the Alberta Diabetes Foundation and the Alberta Diabetes Institute who's work is find a cure for diabetes.
