Our Mission

Companion Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) is devoted to the rescue of stray, abandoned, injured, orphaned cats and dogs, with special emphasis on feral and special needs cats.

About COMPANION ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT

Volunteer-run, we are dependent on public donations to fund programs. There is no shelter facility at this time: we run a network of foster homes.

Many animals are left to fend for themselves without shelter or food. Some are ferals, others were abused, abandoned or neglected animals, who were lucky enough to survive prior to our intervention. Many are the product of people who were not responsible enough to have their animals fixed. Kittens and puppies have been found in trash bags and sealed boxes in garbage dumpsters. They were deemed disposable. How tragic that such a low value is placed on life in our society and that certain people cannot overcome their ignorance and insensitivity, to find some decency within themselves. Their callous acts reflect on us all: Tolerance for either their deliberate brutality or mindless indifference should not be allowed to continue.
