Ticket Information

Ticket sales for this event are now closed.

Overview

To celebrate Earth Week this year you can help unpave paradise at Kus-kus-sum and get a chance to win half the jackpot. While only one person will take home the money, everybody in the Comox Valley will benefit from the restored natural habitat.

Tickets $5 each.

Every ticket purchased raises funds to restore Kus-kus-sum, the old Field Sawmill site next to the 17th Street bridge on Comox Road. Once restored the site will create 8.3 acres of fish and wildlife habitat, provide recreational and educational opportunities, help mitigate climate change, attenuate localized flooding, and put indigenous reconciliation into action.

How it Works

Ticket sales open on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 8 am. You can select the number of tickets you would like to purchase at $5 each and complete the transaction using your preferred method of payment through the CanadaHelps secure payment system.

Because this event is virtual, there will be no in-person opportunity to purchase 50/50 tickets. Ticket sales will close on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 8 pm.

The draw will take place on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 10:00 am. We will broadcast the draw live on Facebook from 10 am to 10:30am.

Find your ticket number on the PDF Raffle Ticket(s) attached to the confirmation email sent following the purchase of your tickets. The ‘TICKET ID’ number is printed vertically along the top, left portion of your ticket and is circled in red in this Example Ticket.

What are the prizes and odds?

Chances are 1 in 2,600 (total tickets for sale) to win the 50/50 prize.

The prize will be half of the total amount of money made from all 50/50 Raffle ticket sales.

The jackpot and odds of winning are different with every 50/50 draw, so the prize amount depends on how many people are playing and the size of the prize pool. The more tickets you buy for a draw, the more chances you have to win! We will only draw from the ticket numbers sold out of the total 2,500 available tickets.

Where do I find my 50/50 Raffle numbers?

Find your number on the attached PDF Raffle Ticket(s) received within your confirmation email sent following the purchase of your tickets. Reference the ID number printed vertically along the top, left portion of your ticket.

You will receive a PDF ticket for each ticket purchased. Each with its own number. You do not need to print your ticket(s) but you must keep them (either digitally or printed) to present if your number is drawn.

The winner will be notified via the email provided through the CanadaHelps payment system on Monday, April 26, 2021 following the live streamed event.
