The goal of Community Living Essex County is that “all persons live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of living in the community, and have the opportunity to participate effectively”.

Community Living Essex County envisions a society where everyone belongs, has equality, respect and acceptance. The gifts, uniqueness and innate value of each individual are celebrated, supported and acknowledged as essential to the completeness of the whole community.

About Community Living Essex County

Community Living Essex County is a non-profit, charitable organization that supports people of all ages with an intellectual disability and their families.

We support over 600 individuals of all ages as they develop their capacity to live, learn, work and participate in all aspects of living in the community. Services and supports provided include supported living, day supports, family supports, and special services at home.

We help the community develop its capacity to welcome and support people who have not always had the same opportunities as the rest of us to participate in community life in meaningful, productive ways.

Advocacy with and for individuals and families continues to be a central role.

For many people community living is a dream, an objective yet to be realized. Some still live in institutions; others may live isolated within a community. Community living Works to bring people and their communities together
