Dear Friends,
Ben and I are excited to participate once again in the Hike for Hospice, which is scheduled for Sunday May 7, 2023. This is the first In-Person Hike since prior to the Pandemic. Although this is a National Fundraising Event, all funds raised in the City of Kawartha Lakes, remain in the City.
Last year alone, Hospice in Kawartha Lakes provided compassionate support to 429 new referrals living with a life-limiting illness to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Hospice services are available on a self-referral basis for patients and their families. They are free thanks to partial funding (just over 50%) from the Ministry of Health & Long-term Care, and the support of generous donors, businesses, grants and fundraisers like our Annual Hike for Hospice.
