"In the spirit of  Reconciliation, the Coming Home Society supports Aboriginal youth impacted by inter-generational trauma by developing, enhancing, and promoting programs that restore cultural identity and build strong community connections.

About COMING HOME SOCIETY

The Coming Home Society is a faith-based Anglican organization working in partnership with two Indigenous organizations:

Warriors Against Violence Society helps First Nations families and individuals struggling with family violence.  Through a series of 28 workshops, and through healing circles for men and women, families learn how to communicate their feelings and resolve conflict before it escalates into anger and abuse.

This unique program goes beyond the 'abuser' and 'victim' model and works with the whole family together.  All are equal in the circle of life - elders, lifegivers, men, and youth.  This program restores the Aboriginal value of honour and respect for everyone. 

Help us address the trauma of worthlessness and powerlessness left behind by the Residential School system.  Today's men and women are looking for loving and healthy family relationships.  Help us give them the tools to build them.

Urban Native Youth Association's  programs connect Indigenous youth to their culture and its values, spirituality, and traditional knowledge and skills.  These teachings support and strengthen youth who are growing up with the legacy of trauma, and family and community breakdown, left by the Residential School system.

The motto of Urban Native Youth Association is "Training the Leaders of Tomorrow."  Your support will help ensure that the many programs offered by UNYA will continue to be there to support and equip today's Indigenous youth as they move into the future.
