This July I'm taking on the ultimate challenge! I'm climbing the highest mountain peak in Africa in support of children's literacy.
Literacy is important to me because my daughter became deaf at a very young age. She under went surgery at the age of 3 years for bilateral cochlear implants to aid in her hearing. Being deaf meant that she struggled with understanding words and putting them together for meaning. Through great efforts, she is now able to enjoy reading as much as I do!
I'm dedicating this climb to my daughter and the children's literacy in Africa because when children know how to read and write it opens up a world of imagination and creativity!
My fundraising effort will go toward starting a new CODE literacy project in Tanzania in 2022, 100% of your donation will be used to get this project off the ground.
