In February 2022 our husband, father, son, brother, friend, Ravi, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He has stage 4 pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer that had already spread to his liver upon diagnosis. As his tumor burden is too high and due to a plethora of other problems caused from the tumors he is not eligible for surgery which provides the best outcome. As a result there are limited treatment options for him. This cancer is quite rare and doesn't get a lot of attention, we are hoping to raise awareness and it is our hope that with some extra money for research new and better treatments can continue to be developed.
We will be walking, running, biking, etc with other teams and participants to hopefully log enough kms by the end of summer to have virtually traveled across Canada, 15,000 kms in total.
