about

Our Vision:

Clan Mothers Healing Village & Knowledge Centre is a land-based Indigenous matriarchal healing village that works with our inherent sacredness and spirit of Indigenous Women and 2Spirit relatives, transforming the pain of gender-based violence into resilience, hope, and purpose.

Our Mission:

Restoring our sacredness as Indigenous Women and 2Spirit relatives, reclaiming our rightful roles by returning to our original matriarchal-centered governance systems. Clan Mothers Healing Village & Knowledge Centre provides a trauma-informed healing space by utilizing Indigenous worldviews, methodologies, and economies. While encouraging empowerment through training and employment opportunities.

Guided by our Elder Council & Experiential Voices, we provide support to Indigenious Women and 2Spirirt relatives who have been victims of multi-generational trauma, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking.

Setting the Stage:

For over 18 years Clan Mothers operated as Grandmother Moon Lodge on a smaller scale, offering land-based Indigenous teachings. It became clear that living in community profoundly enhances healing. Women found strength and inspiration by learning from those who had walked the path of recovery, fostering a space where positive role models ignited hope and empowered transformative healing.

As women in recovery experience nurturing in the village, they begin to participate in daily tasks and operations. They develop a sense of positive self-worth, recognizing their inherent sacredness through active participation and contributing with meaning and purpose.

Now as Clan Mothers Healing Village, innovative social enterprise opportunities provide training, education, transferable skills, and reinforce positive identity to support success while providing financial reinvestment in the Healing Village.

Building off Success:

Our Women and 2Spirit relatives have faced immense barriers. Yet, they excel in our carpentry program, graduating  with skills that not only secure them employment but also position them as the very builders of this village through our Mother Earth Construction Crew & partnership with Parkwest Projects.

Where We are Today:

After months of hard work & tireless building, we are in the final stretch to complete Phase 1 of Clan Mothers Healing Village, fulfilling a vision several years in the making. This will allow us to open our doors and become operational on the land.

Together, we can bring this decades-long vision of growth and lasting sustainability to life. Ensuring this sacred healing space becomes a timeless legacy- one that will nurture and empower future generations.

With your support, this is not about constructing buildings, it is about building communities, empowering families, and shaping brighter futures.

Healing begins here.

What people are saying

“Until we return to our Indigenous Grandmother /Elders Council ways of original self-governance our communities will continue to suffer from multi-generational trauma, new models of Indigenous-led governance must be designed, developed and implemented by our peoples from nation to nation.”
